ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University men's soccer team upped its CCIW record to 1-1-0 after a 2-0 shutout victory over Carroll University at Langhorst Field.
After a scoreless first half, the Bluejays (5-4-1/1-1-0 CCIW) came out and scored two goals within five minutes to secure the win.
The first goal came in the 57
th minute after a series of passes from
David Falleiros and
Alan Lopez-Paredes found there way to
Hayden Madsen who was able to find the back of the net for his first goal of the season.
Cailan Loebel netted the second goal of the contest after getting a head on a cross from teammate
Ilija Jerinic.
Noah Reed earned the win with nine saves, while Jesper Johannassen tallied 13 in goal for the Pioneers (6-5-0/1-2-0 CCIW).
The Bluejays are back in action on Wednesday, October 5 against North Park University at 7:30 p.m.
