ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's tennis team defeated the College of DuPage 8-1 at the Brune Tennis Courts for the Bluejays' sixth victory of the season.
Elmhurst swept the three doubles matches and took five of the six singles contests in the victory.
In doubles play, the Bluejays' No. 1 pairing of Julia Kostidnova and
Jolene Neuhalfen defeated Tyler Grey and Megan Piper 8-0. At No. 2, the Bluejays' duo of Brynn Ruback and
Isabella Rahman defeated Emily Smith and Sasha Russell 8-0. The Bluejays' No. 3 duo of Megan Enstrom and
Valerie Schallmo earned a win by forfeit.
In singles play, Engstrom toppled Smith 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 while
Alitza Munoz stopped Gray 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2.
Olivia Grabowski defeated Sasha Russell 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3. Piper toppled Elmhurst's
Lucia Gaviria 6-4, 6-3 to account for COD's only point. Schallmo and
Mary Bush earned wins by forfeit at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
