ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University men's soccer team fell 2-0 in a non-conference matchup to Kalamazoo at Langhorst Field.
Emilio Romo put the Hornets (2-4-0) on the board with a header goal off of a cross from teammate Travis Barclay in the 26
th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
Kalamazoo's Jaden Buist scored the second header goal of the contest off of a corner kick in the 56
th minute to secure the win for the Hornets.
Elmhurst (3-2-0) was unable to find the back of the net despite nine shots on goal and seven corner kicks.
Noah Reed collected nine saves, while Gavin Houtkooper earned the win in goal with eight saves.
The Bluejays are back in action on Saturday, September 17 against the University of Dubuque at 5:00 p.m.
