DECATUR, Ill. – The Elmhurst University baseball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader at Millikin University. The Bluejays fell 15-5 in game on and dropped game two 15-0.
 
MILLIKIN 15, ELMHURST5 (Game One) – Millikin finished with 18 hits to score a 15-5 win over Elmhurst in eight innings.
 
Elmhurst (13-22/4-13 CCIW) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning 
Trey Romay singled to put the Bluejays on the scoreboard and 
Paul Fomby added a two-run single to stake Elmhurst to a quick 3-0 lead. The Bluejays lead did not last as Millikin answered back for three runs in the bottom of the second.
 
Millikin tacked on two runs in the fourth, a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to open up an 8-3 lead. Elmhurst scored a run in the seventh on 
Freddie March RBI single but the Big Blue answered back with a run in the bottom of the inning. Romay knocked in his second run of the game in the eighth on a sacrifice fly to make the score 9-5. Millikin tacked on six runs in the eighth to score the 15-5 eight-inning victory.
 
Noah Jordan made the start and took the loss for the Bluejays. He worked five innings and allowed 10 hits and seven runs while walking three and fanning five.
 
MILLIKIN 15, ELMHURST 0 (Game Two) – Millikin scored 11 runs between the fourth and fifth innings to earn the doubleheader sweep over the Bluejays.
 
Millikin scored a run in the first and tacked on two more in the third to open up a 3-0 lead. The Big Blue added four runs in the fourth and seven runs in the fifth to blow the game open.
 
Elmhurst was limited to just two hits. 
Drew Raspolich singles and 
Brett Bishop doubled for the Bluejays.
 
Jaysn Miller took the loss for Elmhurst, allowing seven runs and eight hits over four innings of work. He walked three and struck out two.
 
Elmhurst hosts Carroll University at Wheaton's Lee Pfund Stadium tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
