ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University women's lacrosse team suffered a 22-0 loss to 22nd-ranked University of Chicago at Langhorst Field.
The Maroons (9-1) scored 13 unanswered goals in the first quarter, but the Bluejay defense was able to hold them to nine goals in the remaining three periods.
Eleven different Maroons scored during the contest. Leading the way was Ali Sheehy with four goals. Following closely behind was Lally Johnson with two goals and three assists, while Zoe Torok chipped in one goal and three assists. Anneke Pulkkinen and Olivia Escoffery each added in three goals and one assist in the win. Charlotte Rapp and Johnson led the team with three groundballs apiece.
Elmhurst (0-7) was led by
Corinna Salmon who picked up a game-high four groundballs.
Salmon collected 11 saves for the Bluejays, while Chicago's Rachel Keefe and Emily Feigen earned the win with one save apiece.
Elmhurst is back in action at Langhorst Field on Wednesday, April 13 at 7:00 p.m. to take on Carthage College.
