ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University baseball team suffered a 4-0 loss to Kalamazoo College on a chilly day at Butterfield Park.

Elmhurst (10-18) struggled to get going offensively, finishing with just two hits against Kalamazoo (16-10).

The game was scoreless for three innings before Kalamazoo (16-10) cracked the scoreboard with a Cooper Mills RBI single in the fourth. Doug Propson singled home a run in the fifth for the Hornets to double their lead to 2-0. Max Gordon's fielder's choice grounder with the bases loaded drove in a run in the sixth to give Kalamazoo a 3-0 lead. The Hornets tacked on an insurance run in the eighth to come away with the 4-0 victory.

Trevor Lorek and
Drew Raspolich both recorded hits for the Bluejays in the loss.

Joseph Kalish made the start and pitched well despite taking the loss. Kalish worked five innings, allowing just five hits, two walks and two earned runs.

Elmhurst hosts Marian University (Wis.) in a doubleheader on Thursday, April 28.
