ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University women's lacrosse team suffered a 25-1 loss to Illinois Wesleyan University at Langhorst Field.
The Titans controlled the contest offensively, but Elmhurst's
Gracie Eastman was able to put the Bluejays on the board with 5:33 left in the opening period.
Illinois Wesleyan (5-10/3-1 CCIW) was led by Britney Maldonado with six goals and two assists. Hannah Trousdale added in four goals and two assists, while Cassandra Jones finished with three goals and two assists in the win. Sarah Gleason contributed four goals and one assist, while Landry Elliott and Carlyn Bratt each finished with a hattrick. Avery Setzler got in on the scoring action by adding in one goal and Jennie Hubbard chipped in one goal along with picking up a team-high five groundballs.
Elmhurst (0-10/0-4 CCIW) was led by
Catie Schenatzki who grabbed four groundballs.
Marissa Mussatto caused a team-high two turnovers, while
Gaby Castillo finished with three shots on goal.
Corinna Salmon collected six saves for the Bluejays, while Rebecca and Lizzie Rymarcsuk earned the win with eight combined saves.
The Bluejays head to Naperville to take on North Central College in its next matchup on Saturday, April 23 at 11:00 am.
