Men's Lacrosse Continues Winning Ways

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Elmhurst University men's lacrosse team scored its seventh straight victory by defeating the Milwaukee School of Engineering 11-5 on the road.
 
Elmhurst (7-2) led 4-1 at the end of the first half after a pair of goals apiece by Ben Luke and Parker O'Leary.
 
Jake Grebe scored the sole goal of the third period to put the Bluejays up 5-1. 
 
The fourth quarter featured 10 goals between both squads. 
 
Sam Thompson tallied two goals for the Raiders, while John Kubicki and Tanner Whipps added one goal each in the final period. 
 
The six fourth quarter goals for the Bluejays featured a pair by Luke and Marcus Yandall, while Sante Dybowski and Cullen Nordeman chipped in one goal apiece to secure the seventh straight Bluejay victory. 
 
MSOE (4-2) turned the ball over 30 times compared to the Bluejays 11, but the Raiders picked up 45 groundballs to Elmhurst's 42. 
 
O'Leary grabbed a team-high five groundballs and Trent Nyberg, Ryan Camarata and David Castaneda each caused three turnovers in the win. 
 
Luke powered Elmhurst's offense with four goals while O'Leary and Yandall totaled three points each on two goals and an assist. Grebe added three points on a goal and two assists. 
 
The Raiders won an impressive 17-of-20 faceoff attempts with Herred Willhelm going 12-of-15 and Kubicki finishing 5-of-5. Willhelm also picked up a game-high 10 groundballs.
 
Sean Finneran totaled 27 saves for MSOE, while Noah Mickelson earned the win for Elmhurst with 15 saves.
 
The Bluejays finish up their three-game road trip on Wednesday, March 30, playing at Calvin University at 4:00 p.m.
