FORT WAYNE, Ind. – For the second time in his career, Elmhurst University's
Jake Rhode has been named a D3hoops.com All-American. Rhode was named to the five-player second team.
A senior guard from Chicago Heights, Rhode closed out his career by leading the Bluejays to the NCAA Division III Championship game for the first time in school history. He also broke multiple school records along the way for the Bluejays.

Named a D3hoops.com fourth team All-American in 2020, Rhode earned the third first-team all-conference honor of his career from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin this season. He was a unanimous first-team selection for the second time in his career while also being named to both the D3hoops.com and National Basketball Coaches Association First Team All-Region 8 teams.
Rhode led the Bluejays in scoring this season, averaging 17.8 points per game. He also led the team in assists (123) and steals (64) while also averaging 3.8 rebounds per game. Â
Earlier this season, Rhode became Elmhurst's all-time leader in assists and is the only player in school history to total over 500 assists (510) in a career. He also became Elmhurst's all-time leading scorer and is the first Bluejay player in school history to score over 2,000 points in his career. He finished his career with 2,139 points.
Rhode and the Bluejays finished the regular season with a 19-6 overall record and then won its second CCIW Tournament title in three years to automatically qualify for the NCAA Tournament. The Bluejays defeated Washington & Jefferson, Pomona-Pitzer, Calvin and Mary-Hardin Baylor in the NCAA Tournament to reach the Final Four for the first time in school history. Elmhurst toppled Wabash College 90-68 yesterday to advance to the NCAA Championship game before finishing as the National Runner-up. Elmhurst also set a single-season school record for wins with 27.
