Women's Lacrosse Drops First Conference Matchup

WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Elmhurst University women's lacrosse team suffered a setback on the road to Carroll University, falling 11-2.

The Bluejays were held scoreless in the first half of play, but Gaby Castillo put Elmhurst (0-5) on the board with 11:23 left in the third period.

Mikaela Armstrong scored the final Bluejay goal with just over two minutes left in the third.

The Pioneers were led by Katrina Hardin with six goals and two assists. Lexi Kaltenber chipped in a pair of goals and assists, while Clara Jelacic added two goals for Carroll (4-1) in the win. Hardin also picked up a team-high eight groundballs, while Ariana Cullam caused a game-high five turnovers.

Gracie Eastman won two draw controls, picked up five groundballs and caused two turnovers for Elmhurst in the loss.

Bluejay goalkeeper, Corinna Salmon, grabbed a game-high nine groundballs and recorded 12 saves, while Alicia Van Dale earned the win for the Pioneers with six saves.

Elmhurst returns home for its next matchup against Spalding University on Saturday, March 19 at 12:00 p.m.
