LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University women's lacrosse team fell to Lake Forest College, dropping the contest 15-4 on the road.
The Foresters jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the Bluejays before Elmhurst's
Gracie Eastman scored the first goal of the season to put her team on the board.
Elmhurst (0-2) trailed 9-1 at the half, but came out strong to start the third quarter, with
Gaby Castillo scoring the first goal of the second half.
The Bluejays posted a pair of goals in the fourth quarter, but were unable to overcome Lake Forest (1-0).
Lake Forest was led by Jenna Doctor who finished with four goals and one assist. Ali Graham contributed three goals, one assist and picked up five groundballs. Graham also posted a team-high six caused turnovers. Krissy Kuwahara scored one goal and grabbed a team-high eight groundballs.
Elmhurst's Eastman led the way with a pair of goals, while
Marie Corpuz and Castillo chipped in one goal each. Corpuz finished with a team-high three groundballs.
Bluejay goalkeeper,
Corinna Salmon collected eight saves, while Calliope Saban earned the win for Lake Forest with three saves.
Elmhurst heads to Franklin College for a non-conference matchup on Saturday, March 5 at 10 a.m.
