Box Score ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University volleyball team lost a tight match at Carroll in four sets (19-25, 16-25, 25-23, 23-25). 

Elmhurst (4-10/1-4 CCIW) started out the first set with a 4-0 lead. The set stayed tight until Carroll (9-10, 1-4 CCIW) went on a 6-0 run to take a commanding 19-15 lead and they did not look back. The second set started close as well until another Carroll run late to seal the 2-0 lead in the match.
 
The Bluejays were able to take a big victory in the third set 25-23. This time a 5-0 run in the middle pushed them to take the 14-12 lead. Carroll had a run of their own later in the set to lead 19-16. After rallies Elmhurst secured the win with an important rally to end it.
 
 In the fourth set Elmhurst took a commanding lead 17-13 in the home stretch. Carroll made the all-important turn around to rally for the next 5 points. The rallies continued in the match, with Carroll taking the edge 25-23. 
 
Elmhurst hit .099 for the match with 49 kills and 33 errors in 161 attempts. Jada Wiley led Elmhurst with 14 kills, 15 digs and three blocks. Lacey Kaiser finished the match with 12 kills, while Keely Larson added seven kills. Kellyn Kennedy tallied 16 assists. Hannah Horn added 13 assists of her own with Erin Murray assisting eight times. Payton Cey logged 20 digs and two aces in the match. Katelyn Bower had three big blocks on the day as well.
 
Carroll showcased a balanced attack with Kaitlin Gawelski (8 kills), Ashley Konecki (7 kills), and Courtney Kirley (7 kills). Lindsey Diep led the team with 18 assists, while Alianiz Rivera-Rosado had two aces and 18 digs in the match. 

Elmhurst hosts the University of Chicago on October 8.
