ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's tennis team fell to Wheaton 9-0 bringing their season record to 6-4, 0-4 in CCIW play.

In doubles play, Elmhurst's No. 1 pair of Jolene Neuhalfen and  Julia Kostadinova lost 8-2 to Wheaton's Madeline Gentry and Abygale Ahn. The Thunder's Audrey Vick and Lydia Adams won 8-0 over Isabella Rahman and June Bering at No. 2 doubles. To close out the doubles sets Brynn Rubacky and Megan Engstrom fell to Alexandra Wachs and Lily Anne Van Ye at No. 3 doubles, 8-0. 
 
The Thunder swept singles play. There was a tight match at No. 6 singles. Wheaton was able to take both sets with Janet Kondo defeating Silvia Barak 6-3, 6-4. Madeline Gentry started off at No. 1 with a win over Jolene Neuhalfen 6-2, 6-0. At No. 2 Vick defeated Julia Kostadinova 6-1, 6-1. There was a clean sweep over Rahman 6-0, 6-0 by Abygale Ahn at No. 3. June Bering lost 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4 to Alexandra Wachs. The Thunder had a strong performance at No. 5 singles winning 6-0, 6-0 with Lydia Adams over Brynn Rubacky. 

Elmhurst travels to Augustana College on October 5.
