ELMHURST, Ill. – Two members of the Elmhurst University men's soccer team have earned College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin postseason accolades.
Junior forward
Ilija Jerinic was named to the first team all-conference squad, while senior
Cailan Loebel was awarded the RESPECT Award.
Jerinic leads the team so far this season with 19 points off of eight goals and three assists. He scored two goals against the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and Benedictine University, while adding one goal in the Dominican, Lake Forest, MSOE, and Carthage contests. The Morton Grove, Ill. native added one assist in the Alma, Carroll and Augustana wins.
Loebel has totaled five points so far this season with two goals and one assist. The Merrickville, Ontario native scored the game-winning goal against Grinnell and added his second goal of the season in the win over Carroll on October 1, 2022. His sole assist of the year came in the 1-0 win over Lake Forest. Each CCIW school selects a RESPECTÂ Award recipient that has distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration and Trust.Â
Elmhurst travels to Carthage for a CCIW tournament quarter-final matchup at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29.
