ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst University volleyball team topped Augustana 25-22, 22-25, 25-20, 25-20 at R.A. Faganel Hall.
Elmhurst (5-12/2-4 CCIW) trailed 8-2 early in the opening set, but was able to tie the score up at eight apiece after a six-point serving run by Peyton Ceh.
The Bluejays scored five unanswered points to close out and take the first set.
Augustana (14-7/3-3 CCIW) bounced back and took the second set after posting two five-point runs throughout the set.
Elmhurst won back-to-back sets 25-20 to earn its second CCIW win of the season.
 The Vikings hit .255 with 51 kills and 14 errors in 145 attempts. Emily Schipper led the way for Augustana with 19 kills and six blocks, while Jaden Julius chipped in 12 kills and seven digs. Amelie Baehr-Ross led the team in assists with 36 and tallied 12 digs as well. Grace Vranicar tied a game-high four aces and finished the contest with a game-high 20 digs.
The Bluejays earned the win hitting .259 with 58 kills and 20 errors in 147 attempts. Leading the way for Elmhurst was
Jada Wiley who finished with 16 kills, two blocks and 11 digs.
Elise Rossing tallied 13 kills, while
Kali Phillips added in eight kills and two blocks of her own.
Hannah Horn led the team in assists with 22 with
Kellyn Kennedy following closely behind with 14. Ceh finished with 15 digs, eight assists and four aces in the win.
Elmhurst hosts Illinois Wesleyan for its next contest on Wednesday, October 19 at 7:00 p.m. for Senior Night at R.A. Faganel Hall.
