WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Elmhurst University volleyball team improved to 1-1 in the CCIW after scoring a 25-11, 25-18, 25-15 win over Carroll University.
Elmhurst (3-6), cruised to the three-set victory, trailing only twice in the opening set before taking control. Elmhurst never trailed in either the second or third set in route to the three-set sweep.
The Bluejays hit .214 in the contest with 36 kills and 12 errors in 112 attempts.
Jada Wiley led the Bluejays with nine kills while
Taylor Zurliene finished with eight kills and 11 digs.
Emily Duis totaled seven kills and three blocks.
Elise Rossing and
Katelyn Bower both totaled four kills and four blocks on the night.
Erin Murray tallied a team-leading 27 assists while
Valerie Thomas led the squad in digs with 15.
Carroll finished the night with 22 kills and 22 errors. The Pioneers were led by seven-kill performances from both Peyton Frost and Cathleen Flannery in the loss.
Elmhurst travels to Benedictine University on Friday, March 24 to take on the host Eagles and Lake Forest College.
