WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Elmhurst University women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss at Carroll University.
Carroll (2-3/1-2 CCIW) picked up the win by sweeping the three doubles contests and all six singles matches.
In doubles play, Carroll's Grace Krueger and Ashley LaBelle topped Elmhurst's Julia Kostidnova and Silivia Barak 8-2 at No. 1 doubles. The Bluejays' No. 2 due of
Bailey Ekstrand and
Isabella Rahman fell 8-3 to Sophia Dekker and Maya Gaedtke at No. 2. Madison Ostrander and Rachel Papp upended Elmhurst's
June Bering and
Brynn Rubacky 8-1 at No. 3.
In singles play, Krueger defeated Kostadinova 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 while LaBelle stopped Bering 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2. Dekker upended Barak 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 while Gaedtke defeated Rahman 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4. Ostrander defeated Ekstrand 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5 while Carolyn Merkatoris defeated Elmhurst's Megan Ensgrom 7-6, 6-1 at No. 6.
