Consalvo Assists Bluejays to Victory at Chatham

PITTSBURGH, Penn. – The Elmhurst University men's soccer team closed out the weekend with a 4-1 win over Chatham University at Graham Field.

The Bluejays (3-2-1) dominated on offense from the first whistle.  Elmhurst's Raffa Consalvo found teammate Brady Lucas in the fourth minute of play for his first goal of the season to give the Bluejays the 1-0 lead.

In the 28th minute, it was Consalvo once again with the assist, finding teammate Cailan Loebel who extended the lead to 2-0 with a header goal.

Just one minute later, Consalvo earned his third assist of the game when he connected with Hayden Madsen who made it 3-0 with the second header goal of the game.

Chatham (1-2-1) put itself on the board in the 60th minute of play when Ryan Tahbaz took advantage of a penalty kick following an Elmhurst yellow card.

Elmhurst scored its final goal in the 81st minute to make the final score 4-1, when Ilija Jerinic finished a ball crossed by teammate Colton Lennon.

Cougar goalkeeper, Trevor Rose, collected eight saves in the match, while Bluejay goalkeeper, Noah Reed, earned the win with two saves.

Elmhurst looks to continue its winning ways at Kalamazoo College on Wednesday, September 15.
