WHEATON, Ill. - The Elmhurst University women's tennis team wrapped up its CCIW schedule after falling 9-0 to Wheaton College.
Wheaton (8-3/7-1 CCIW) swept the three doubles matches and the six singles contests while taking the victory.
Emme Lindquisy and Abygale Ahn stopped Elmhurst's
Julia Kostadinova and Isabella Raman 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. Claire Dibble and Bethany Hoogerheide defeated
June Bering and
Megan Engstrom 8-0 at No. 2. Wheaton's Lindsey Anderson and Sarah Backer scored an 8-5 win over
Morgan Bilancia and
Bailey Ekstrand at No. 3.
In singles play, Lindquist defeated Kostadinova 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 while Ahn upended Bilancia 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2. Dibble stopped Rahman 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 and Hoogerheide toppled Ekstrand 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4.Backer scored a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Bering at No. 5 while Caroline Park downed Engstrom 6-1, 6-1.
Elmhurst will play in the CCIW Tournament quarterfinals on April 27.
