LISLE, Ill. – The Elmhurst University baseball team suffered a 10-0 road loss at Benedictine University.
Elmhurst (12-15) was limited to only four hits in the eight-inning loss.
Benedictine (18-6) grabbed a run in the Damen Castillo sacrifice fly. Nic Pressutti singled home a pair of runs in the third to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead. Benedictine added two runs in the sixth and then scored the walk-off 10-run win by scoring five runs in the eighth. The Eagles used three bases loaded walks, an infield single and a fielder's choice grounder to score their five runs in the eighth.
Tyler Kledzik collected two of the Bluejays' four hits in the loss.
Jay Palmer made the start for the Bluejays and took the loss. He worked five innings, allowing two hits and three runs. He walked five and struck out one.
Elmhurst plays a doubleheader at Carroll University on Saturday, April 24.
