ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Elmhurst baseball team slipped to 6-5 overall and 2-3 in the CCIW after falling 5-2 to Augustana College in 10 innings.

Augustana (10-2, 2-2 CCIW) struck first in the fourth inning. Mitchell Owens doubled home a run with two outs to put the Vikings in front. Elmhurst answered back in the sixth, taking the lead with a pair of runs. Trey Romey evened the score at 1-1 with an RBI double.
Lorenzo Farino added a run-scoring single to put the Bluejays in front 2-1.

Augustana tied things up at 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh on a Brett Benedetti RBI single. The Bluejays had a chance to take the lead in the eighth with a runner on second and one out, but the team could not come up with the go-ahead hit.

The game remained tied at 2-2 in the bottom of the 10th. The Vikings put two runners on via walk and won the game on a two-out, three-run walk-off homer from Matt Ozanic.

Kevin Johlie led Elmhurst at the plate, finishing with three of the team's seven hits. Romay added two hits and drove in a run.

Noah Jordan made the start and took a no-decision, working 6.1 innings and allowing just five hits and two runs. He walked one and struck out seven.
J.D. Knight took the loss in relief, working three innings and allowing two hits and two runs. He walked two and fanned two.
