ELMHURST, Ill. –After spending the past six months as the Interim Director of Athletics, Elmhurst University has announced that
Glen Brittich has been named the Bluejays Director of Athletics.
Prior to being named the Bluejays' Interim Director of Athletics, Brittich spent two years as the Bluejays' Assistant Director of Athletics.
"In speaking with all the coaches, it became abundantly clear that Glen was the right person for the job," said Elmhurst University Vice President for Student Affairs Phil Riordan. "He works hard, is committed to Elmhurst University, and foremost; is committed to our student-athletes. Glen loves Elmhurst University, and he has earned the opportunity to lead and move our athletic program forward."
Brittich has overseen all elements of the daily operations of the Bluejays' athletic department for the past six months including compliance, gameday operations and direct supervision of the Bluejays' coaching staff. As Elmhurst's Assistant Director of Athletics, he was responsible for the internal operations of the athletic department and managed the Bluejays' gameday operations. In 2020, Brittich was selected as one of 20 participants to the NCAA's Pathway Program, the NCAA's premier leadership develop program for athletic administrators. Â

"I would like to thank President VanAken and Vice President Riordan for entrusting me with the leadership of the Elmhurst University athletics program. We have fantastic student-athletes and the goal is to continue to create an outstanding and positive experience for every one of them."
Brittich spent six years as an assistant coach with the Elmhurst football team prior to being named the Bluejays' Assistant Director of Athletics. He worked as the team's defensive coordinator for five years and served as the team's assistant head coach for one season. Brittich also had coaching stops at Hope College, Carthage College, Eastern Michigan University, Grand Valley State University and Adams State College.
A 2004 graduate of Albion College, Brittich was a four-year starter and two-time first-team all-conference selection for the Britons and was named the MIAA's Defensive MVP in 2003. He was inducted into Albion's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2019. He earned his master's degree from Adams State.
Brittich and his wife, Abby, currently reside in Carol Stream with their daughters Jenna and Brianna.Â
