DECATUR, Ill. – The Elmhurst University men's soccer team upped its CCIW record to 1-1-1 on the season following a 1-0 shutout road win at Millikin University.
 
Elmhurst (5-5-2 overall) dominated the contest from the start, outshooting Millikin (1-8-2, 1-1-1 CCIW) 8-1 in the opening half. The Bluejays broke the scoreless tie less than two minutes into the second half. James Serrano scored from 25 yards out off an assist from Ilija Jerinic.
 
Elmhurst finished the game outshooting Millikin 16-3. The Big Blue managed just one shot on goal for the entire contest. Elmhurst held a 13-2 edge in corner kicks.
 
Noah Reed recorded the shutout in goal for the Bluejays while recording one save. Jon Kuebler took the loss in goal for Millikin, allowing one goal while recording four saves.
 
Elmhurst hosts North Park University on Saturday, October 9.
