ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst University men's soccer team suffered an 8-0 loss to CCIW foe, North Park, at Langhorst Field.
North Park's Peder Olsen tallied his 10
th goal of the season in the first 28 seconds of the contest after getting a touch on a long ball from teammate Jostein Blindheim and placing the ball high and out of reach for Elmhurst goalkeeper
Noah Reed.
The Vikings' William de Carro scored two goals just five minutes apart. The first came in the 33
rd minute and the second game in the 38
th minute off of an assist from Olsen.
North Park (8-3-0) added one more goal in the 43
rd minute of play when Tobias Lunde scored off of an assist from Gustav Ericsson to give North Park a 4-0 lead at the break.
North Park tacked on four more goals in the second half to pull away for the 8-0 victory.
Elmhurst's Reed collected seven saves during the contest while North Park's Alfred Sward earned the shutout and win with one save.
The Bluejays (4-5-2) head to Decatur for another CCIW match against Millikin on Wednesday, October 6.
