ADDISON, Ill. - The Elmhurst bowling team opened up the 2021 season by posting a 3-1 record in matches against Augustana College and Illinois Wesleyan University at Stardust Bowl. 

Elmhurst opened the day with a 759-451 win over Illinois Wesleyan University. Katherine Pettinger led the way for the Bluejays with a 200. Elena Vezmar added a 160 while Makaylah Jones rolled a 153. The Bluejays topped the Titans 862-442 in a five-game Baker match to move to 2-0. 

Elmhurst suffered its only loss of the day after dropping a 10-pin decision to Augustana by a 747-737 final score. Jones paced the Bluejays in the loss with a team-leading 190 while Kiersten Henderson bowled a 150 and Pettinger added a 147 for Elmhurst. The Bluejays closed the day by defeating Augustana 800-730 in a five-game Baker series. 

The Bluejays are back at the lanes next Saturday, February 6, when they compete against Augustana, Illinois Wesleyan and North Central College at Bowlero in Naperville.
