Bluejays Fall to Albion 12-5 on the Road.

ALBION, MI. – The Elmhurst men's lacrosse squad dropped their third contest of the season, falling on the road 12-5 to Albion College.

The Bluejays (0-3) took an early 1-0 lead after Ben Luke finished a pass from Cullen Nordeman. After another Elmhurst goal from Nordeman, Albion (3-1) scored their first goal of the game with 3:57 left in the first quarter. Five minutes into the second quarter, Marcus Yandall scored off of an Albion turnover, giving Elmhurst a two-goal lead. After an Albion goal, Russell Langston responded by securing the ground ball and finishing it in the back of the net to put Elmhurst in front 4-2. The Britons responded by scoring three goals in the last five minutes of the half, taking a 5-4 lead into the third quarter.

The Britons extended their lead early in the third quarter to take a two-goal lead. The Bluejays responded when Yandall finished a man-up goal with 6:00 minutes left in the quarter, closing the deficit to within one. Albion scored with 4:30 left in the third to lead Elmhurst 7-5and carry a two-goal cushion into the final quarter. Unfortunately, the Bluejays' offense could not generate another goal for the remainder of the game. The Britons outscored the Bluejays in the fourth quarter 5-0 to secure their third win of the season.

Elmhurst edged the Britons 29-24 in ground balls. The Bluejays finished 1-of-3 man-up opportunities while Albion could not capitalize on any of its three chances.

The Bluejays were led by Yandall's two goals and Noredman's two points. Luke and Langston each scored one goal in the loss. Langston also secured three ground balls while causing four turnovers. Jacob Delgado totaled 13 saves on the night for the Bluejays' defense. Nick McClary secured five ground balls while causing three caused turnovers on the night.

The Britons were led by Jace Conley's four goals, two assists, and six points. Scott Shepard added three goals and one assist in the victory. Sam Puzevic scored two goals to help his squad capture the win.
