DELAWARE, OH. – The Elmhurst men's lacrosse team dropped a 14-10 road contest at Ohio Wesleyan University.
Elmhurst slipped to 0-4 on the season while Ohio Wesleyan moved to 1-2.
In the first quarter Ohio Wesleyan University capitalized on four Elmhurst turnovers, taking a 3-0 lead headed into the second quarter. Cullen Noredman finished a step-down pass from
Sante Dybowski, putting the Bluejays on the board with ten minutes left in the half (4-1). The Bishops answered a few minutes later, scoring on a man-up goal.
Ben Luke and
Andrew Lentz each scored a goal towards the end of the first half, keeping the Bluejays in the game 5-3 at haltfime.
The Bluejays continued to answer the Bishops in the third quarter. Dybowski earned a hat trick, scoring three goals in the third quarter.
Luke McAdams helped keep his squad in the game, scoring back-to-back goals with four minutes left in the third quarter. Headed in to the fourth quarter, Elmhurst trailed Ohio Wesleyan 12-9. It was a defensive battle in the fourth quarter as the Bishops held onto their lead, scoring two goals and securing the victory 14-10.
The Bluejays were led by Dybowski's three goals and one assists. Luke,
Andrew Frerich, and Nordeman each added a goal.
Marcus Yandall didn't find the back of the net but dished out three assists on the afternoon. Jacob Delgado totaled 10 saves to lead the Bluejays defense.
The Bishops were led by Sean Gellen's team-high five goals. Henry Hasenberg added three goals and three assists of his own. Lucas Smith totaled two goals to help assists his squad in the victory.
