LA CROSSE, Wis. - The Elmhurst volleyball team dropped to 4-7 on the season following a 21-25, 25-22, 18-25, 20-25 loss at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Elmhurst led 20-18 in the opening set, but the Eagles battled back to close on a 7-1 run to jump out in front. Elmhurst evened the match at a set apiece by winning the second 25-22, but UW-La Crosse took the third and fourth sets to put the match away.

Elmhurst hit .189 for the contest with 47 kills and 20 errors in 143 swings. 

Bailey Brouwer powered Elmhurst in the loss with 17 kills. Ellie Burzlaff added 12 kills while Taylor Zurliene finished with six kills and seven digs. Valerie Thomas led the Bluejays' defense with 17 digs to go along with three aces. Emily Finkbeiner totaled a team-best 18 assists while Hannah Horn registered 15.

Emma Lawrence paced La Crosse in the win with 12 kills. Brianne Korducki added nine kills for the Eagles.

Elmhurst takes on St. Norbert College and Wisconsin Lutheran College tomorrow.
