ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's lacrosse team slipped to 0-2 in the CCIW after dropping a 23-0 contest to Carroll University at Langhorst Field.
Carroll (7-2, 1-0) outshot Elmhurst (1-7, 0-2 CCIW) 51-3 in the contest and held a 21-10 edge in ground balls.
The Pioneers reaced out to a 16-0 lead at the half and tacked on seven goals in the second half en route to the victory.
Clara Jelacic and Michaela Johnson powered Carroll in the victory, combining for 15 points. Jelacic totaled eight points on six goals and two assists while Johnson finished with seven goals for the Pioneers.
Marissa Vaca recorded 19 saves in goal, a career best and the second-highest single game total in program history.
Elmhurst plays at Illinois Wesleyan University on Wednesday, April 10.
