CHICAGO, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's lacrosse team opened the CCIW portion of its schedule by falling 20-1 at the University of Chicago.
Chicago (8-1, 1-0 CCIW) raced out to a 10-0 lead after 10 minutes and led 16-0 at halftime. The Maroons scored the first two goals of the second half before Elmhurst ended Chicago's goal streak.Â
Kalie Miller fired home a goal with 13:28 remaining in the contest to put the Bluejays on the scoreboard. Chicago scored twice in the final seven minutes to pull away for the 20-1 win.
Miller accounted for the Bluejays' only goal of the contest while
Marissa Vaca recorded 11 saves in goal for Elmhurst.
Lally Johnson sparked Chicago's offense with eight points, totaling one goal and seven assists. Isabelle Moran scored five goals while Ali Sheehy added four for the Maroons.Â
Elmhurst hosts Carroll University on Saturday, April 6.Â
