ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Elmhurst football team dropped its second straight contest, falling 47-7 in a CCIW road loss at Washington University in St. Louis.

Elmhurst (1-4/1-3 CCIW) struggled on both sides of the ball, as WashU (4-1/3-1 CCIW) scored the game's first 47 points while racing out to a big lead. The Bears limited Elmhurst to only 205 yards of offense in the contest.

WashU got on the scoreboard midway through the first on a Chris Vartanian 22-yard field goal. A John Fisher seven-yard run nearly three minutes later made the score 10-0. Varatanian booted a 42-yard field goal near the end of the first to give the Bears a 13-0 lead after one quarter.
Johnny Davidson hit Michael Allison for a 50-yard strike early in the second and Vartanian booted field goals from 33 and 42 yards to put WashU up 26-0 at halftime.
WashU connected on three long scores in the second half to add to its lead. Davidson hit Sam Fenske on a 46-yard score early in the third before connecting with Allison from 24 yards out midway through the third. Tun Tague hooked up with Khyla Nevils-Reed on an 85-yard scoring strike midway through the fourth quarter to make the 47-0 in favor of the Bears.

Elmhurst put together an impressive 12-play, 93-yard scoring drive on its next possession.
Noah Henkel capped the drive with a 17-yard touchdown pass to
Ben Fridrich.

Elmhurst finished with 205 yards in the contest, rushing for 26 while passing for 179. WashU finished with 492 yards, rushing for 138 while passing for 354. Elmhurst struggled on third down on both sides of the field. The Bluejays converted 5-of-18 third down attempts while WashU successfully converted 12-of-20 third-down attempts.

Henkel completed 21-of-33 attempts for 176 yards with a touchdown and interception.
Casey Dobczyk was the Bluejays' top target, catching eight passes for 68 yards. Fridrich added six receptions for 55 yards and a score.

Fisher led WashU on the ground, carrying 16 times for 63 yards and a score. Davidson finished 21-of-30 through the air for 260 yards and three touchdowns. Tim Matthiessen caught seven passes for 46 yards to lead the Bears' receivers.

Daniel Jean-Baptiste and
Stefan Postman totaled 10 tackles apiece to lead the Bluejays' defense.
Bryce Gable added nine stops while
Jeff Bills and
Sean Jay totaled seven apiece.
Luke Coon totaled three tackles, including two sacks while also forcing and recovering a fumble
