ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss to Augustana College at Courts Plus.
Augustana (8-0/6-0 CCIW) swept all three doubles matches to begin play. The Vikings' pair of Annie Timm and Zeana Badawi downed Elmhurst's
Ysabel Gonzaga and
Dacey Maglaque 8-1 at No. 1. Lily Schoeck and Lauren Oda followed with an 8-4 win over the Bluejays' pairing of
Silvia Barak and
Nina Pasquini. Kalli Majewski and Leraaen Abbott toppled the Bluejays'
Lindsey McAuliffe and
Bailey Ekstrand 8-2 at No. 3.
In singles play, Timm scored a 6-0, 6-0 win over Gonazaga at No. 1 while Badawi followed with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Pasquini at No. 2. Michaela Magee scored a 6-0, 6-0 win over Maglaque at No. 3 while Schoeck toppled McAuliffe 6-0, 6-4 at No. 4. Oda scored a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Barak at No. 5 while Majewski stopped Bering 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6.
Elmhurst plays at the CCIW Championship on October 16.
