OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Elmhurst volleyball team opened the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational by splitting a pair of matches. The Bluejays rallied for a five-set win over the tournament hosts before falling 3-0 to St. Norbert College in the nightcap.
 
Elmhurst (2-5) opened with a thrilling 25-23, 22-25, 21-25, 25-22, 15-11 win over UW-Oshkosh (4-3), erasing a 2-1 set deficit to come away with the win. The Bluejays fell 25-20, 26-22, 28-26 to St. Nortbert in the second game of the night.
 
ELMHURST 3, UW-Oshkosh 2 – Elmhurst sored its second consecutive win by knocking off the tournament hosts in five sets.

Trailing 23-22 in the opening set, the Bluejays rattled off three straight points to take the opening set 25-23. After dropping two tightly contested sets, the Bluejeays erased an early four-point deficit in the fourth set to pull even at 15-15. Elmhurst used a 5-2 run to open up a 20-17 lead. The Titans pulled to within one at 23-22, but an Oshkosh error and a kill from Kaye Lesure gave Elmhurst the 25-22 win and sent the match to a decisive fifth set.  
 
Elmhurst rattled off four straight points to grab an early 7-3 lead in the fifth. The Bluejays pushed their lead up to 12-7, but Oshkosh scored the next four points to pull to within one. A kill from Taylor Zurliene followed by back-to-back kills from Bailey Brouwer gave Elmhurst the set and the match.
 
Elmhurst hit .107 for the match with 51 kills and 33 errors in 169 attacks. Brouwer and Ellie Burzlaff paced Elmhurst in the win wth 11 kills apiece. Burzlaff added three blocks for the Bluejays while Zurliene and Lesure finished with seven kills apiece. Zurliene led the squad in digs with 20 while Rachel Shuty finished with 13. Kelly Townsend totaled 21 assists, nine digs and four kills while Katie Davis added 18 assists and 10 digs.
 
ST. NORBERT 3, ELMHURST 0 – Elmhurst had its two-game winning streak snapped at the hands of St. Norbert College.
 
Brouwer led the Bluejays with nine kills while Zurleine tallied eight kills and 13 digs.
