ELMHURST, Ill. – Kalamazoo scored four second-half goals to topple the Elmhurst men's soccer team 4-1 at Langhorst Field.

Elmhurst slipped to 1-7 on the season with the loss while Kalamazoo upped its record to 3-5 overall.

Both squads registered just three shots in an even and scoreless opening half. Kalamazoo came out quickly in the second half, scoring on a Hayden Strobel goal off a Mikey Schwartz assist just 2:23 into the half.

The Hornets tacked on three goals in the span of 2:20 later in the half to pull away for the win. Gold Afolabi struck first in the 65th minute. Ben Meshke followed 1:47 later to give the Hornets a 3-0 lead. Justin Schodowski scored 43 seconds after Meschke's goal to make the score 4-0 in favor of Kalamazoo.

Elmhurst avoided the shutout with a late goal.

Alonso Pacheco knocked home in the 89th minute to make the final score 4-1.

Kalamazoo outshot Elmhurst 11-7 in the contest, including an 8-4 edge in the second half.
Donnie Kvien took the loss in goal while recording one save for the Bluejays.
