DECATUR, Ill. – The Elmhurst baseball team ran its record to 5-3 in the CCIW by sweeping a doubleheader from Millikin University.
The Bluejays won the opener 6-2 and then finished the sweep with an 11-0 victory in game two.

ELMHURST 6, MILLIKIN 1 (Game One) – Nick Drago pitched a solid game while leading Elmhurst to a 6-1 victory over the Big Blue in game one.
Drago went eight innings and allowed just one unearned run while scattering six hits. He walked one while striking out seven and improving to 3-1 on the season in the process.

Elmhurst jumped on the board in the fourth inning after back-to-back RBI doubles from
Jordan Scrimpsher and
Austin MacMillan. The Bluejays tacked on a run in the fifth on
Tyler Kledzik's RBI double.

The Bluejays took advantage of three errors on Millikin in the eighth inning, scoring three times and extending their lead to 6-0. Millikin got a run back in the bottom of the eighth, but came no closer as Elmhurst closed out the game with a five-run victory.

Jacob McMillan finished 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and an RBI. Scrimpsher, Kledzik and MacMillan totaled two hits apiece for the Bluejays.

ELMHURST 11, MILLIKIN 0 (Game Two) – Nathan Tovell shut down Millikin's bats and tossed a shutout as the Bluejays finished the doubleheader sweep with an 11-0 victory in game two.

Matt Wilson put the Bluejays on the scoreboard in the fourth inning, breaking the scoreless tie by cracking a two-run homer.

Elmhurst doubled its lead in the sixth inning when Kledzik roped a two-run single to center. The Bluejays blew things open in eighth, scoring seven times to open up an 11-0 lead.
Jacob McMillan started the scoring with a three-run homer and Wilson cracked his second homer of the contest in the Bluejays' big inning.

Trevor Horwath finished with three hits and scored a run while Wilson added three hits and drove in three. Scrimpsher added three hits for Elmhurst while McMillan, Kledzik, and
Reagan McReynolds totaled two hits apiece.
Nathan Tovell did the rest for Elmhurst, tossing a complete game shutout. Tovell allowed just four hits and two walks while striking out nine.

Elmhurst will attempt to complete the three-game series sweep when the Bluejays take on Millikin tomorrow (April 8) in Decatur.
