NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Elmhurst baseball team slipped to 9-10 in the CCIW after dropping both ends of a doubleheader at North Central College.

Elmhurst fell 8-2 in game one and dropped game two 12-1. The Bluejays fell 19-15 overall and moved into fifth place in the CCIW standings with the losses. North Central ran its record to 21-9 overall and 16-2 in the CCIW with the wins.

NORTH CENTRAL 8, ELMHURST 2 (Game One) -Â The Cardinals scored four runs in the bottom of the first and never trailed in the contest.

Elmhurst scored a run in the third on
Trey Compton's RBI double. Elmhurst added a run in the fifth on
Jacob McMillan's sacrifice fly.

Compton led Elmhurst at the plate with two hits. Mike Wisz paced the Cardinals with two hits and three RBIs.

Austin MacMillan made the start and took the loss for Elmhurst, surrendering eight hits and five runs in five innings of work. He walked two while striking out three. North Central's Austin Polezoes earned the win, working seven innings and allowing seven hits and two runs.

NORTH CENTRAL 12, ELMHURST 1 (Game Two) – North Central scored a combined 10 runs in the first three innings while racing past Elmhurst 12-1 in game two.

Wisz knocked in five runs in the first three innings to help stake North Central to a quick 10-0 lead. Elmhurst scored its only run of the game on a run-scoring single from Compton.

McMillan recorded two of Elmhurst's six hits in the loss.

Jordan Scrimpsher took the loss for the Bluejays, allowing four hits and six runs in one plus innings. He walked three and struck out one. Charlie Klemm went five innings for the Cardinals to pick up the win. Klemm allowed just five hits and one run. He walked two and fanned five.

Elmhurst hosts North Central in the final game of the three-game series on Sunday, April 29.
