NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's lacrosse team suffered a 23-4 road loss at North Central College.
The loss dropped Elmhurst to 5-8 overall on 0-4 in the CCIW. North Central upped its record to 13-1 overall and 3-0 in league play.Â
North Central took the lead just over 30 seconds into the contest on an Addie Reords' goal. The Cardinals scored eight goals in the first 10 minutes of play and built a 14-0 lead at the half.Â
North Central scored the first two goals of the second half before
Isabel Walker put Elmhurst on the scoreboard with her 35th goal of the season. Elmhurst scored three of the next five goals to make the score 18-4, but the Cardinals scored the final five goals of the contest to pull away for the 19-goal victory.Â
North Central outshot Elmhurst 37-13 and held a 15-6 edge in ground balls.Â
Walker paced Elmhurst in the loss, finishing with three goals and two ground balls.
Yaziria Cisneros also scored a goal for the Bluejays.
Megan Keener recorded six saves in goal for the Bluejays.Â
Jessica Deetjen and Mynk Richardson-Clark led the Cardinals with seven points apiece. Each player tallied four goals and three assists. Madeline McHugh added four goals and Nelle Scranton scored three for the Cardinals.Â
