ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst women's lacrosse team slipped to 5-6 on the season following a 19-4 loss to Illinois Wesleyan University.

Illinois Wesleyan (8-4, 2-0 CCIW) built a quick 1-0 lead on Riley Rooney's goal less than two minutes into the contest, but Elmhurst (0-2 CCIW) answered back, evening the score at 1-1 on
Ellen Brown's 10th goal of the season.

The Titans responded by scoring the next 14 goals and building a 15-1 lead at the half. The Titans scored the first three goals of the second half to extend their lead to 18-1, but Elmhurst scored three of the last five goals to make the final score 19-4.

IWU outshot Elmhurst 41-15 and enjoyed a 26-13 edge in ground balls. The Titans also won 15-of-24 draw controls.

Grace Knoebel paced Elmhurst's offense in the loss, scoring two goals and totaling three draw controls. Brown added a goal and six draw controls while
Isabel Walker added the final goal for the Bluejays.
Megan Keener took the loss in goal for the Bluejays despite recording 13 saves.

Rooney led IWU with six points, finishing with five goals and one assist. Gainne Kelly, Claudia Richman, Mariah Smith, Sam Bidlack and Dani Engelbert all tacked on two goals apiece for the Titans.
