HANOVER, Ind. – The Elmhurst women's lacrosse team slipped to 3-2 on the season after its rally came up shot in a 13-11 loss at Hanover College.

Hanover (4-2) scored the games first three goals before Elmhurst surged back with a 4-1 run to pull even at 4-4 midway through the opening half. Hanover closed the half with five straight goals, opening up a 9-4 lead at the half.

Elmhurst scored the first two goals of the second half to pull to within four, but Hanover used a 4-1 run of its own to open up a six-goal lead at 13-7 with 12:45 left to play. Elmhurst rattled off four straight goals, closing to just a two-goal deficit with 3:31 to play, but the Bluejays could not score in the final minutes, allowing Hanover to hold on for the two-goal victory.

Both teams managed exactly 23 shots and Hanover held a slight 22-21 edge in ground balls. Hanover was successful on 5-of-7 shots from free position while Elmhurst netted just two goals in eight free position attempts. The Bluejays were 0-for-5 from free position in the seconds half.

Isabel Walker paced Elmhurst's offense with seven points. Walker had in a hand in seven of Elmhurst's 15 goals, scoring four and assisting on three others. Walker also caused four turnovers and recorded four ground balls.
Grace Knoebel added a hat trick for Elmhurst tin the loss, finishing with three goals, five draw controls and three ground balls. Kallie Miller added two goals while
Ellen Brown and Larissa Arvanites each scored a goal in the loss.

Megan Keener made the start in goal and took the loss, allowing nine goals while recording three saves. Maggie Durkin finished up, allowing four goals while totaling four saves.
Kinna Laymon and Meg Finn paced Hanover with four goals apiece. Laymon added an assist in the victory. Mallory Fogus added four points on three goals and an assist.
Amanda Mousa and Julia Long combined for the win in the cage. Mousa played the first half, allowing four goals while stopping three shots. Long recorded five saves and allowed seven goals in the second half.
