ELMHURST, Ill. – The Elmhurst women's lacrosse team scored the game's final six goals to rally past Trine University for a 12-8 victory at Langhorst Field.

Elmhurst upped its record to 3-1 on the season with the victory while Trine slid to 2-3 overall.

Elmhurst did not lead for the first 44 minutes of action as Trine scored the opening goal of the contest before building an early 4-1 lead. Elmhurst answered back with three straight goals, including two from
Grace Knoebel. The Bluejays pulled even at 4-4 with 13 minutes remaining after Kalie Miller scored for the Bluejays. Back-to-back goals from Rebecca Plantz put Trine back up by two with 7:20 remaining in the opening half, but Tessa Sellentin scored her first goal of the season with just under two minutes remaining to cut the deficit in half. Trine answered back 52 seconds later on a Lilly Dusek goal, but Miller scored off a feed from Isabel Walker with just 35 seconds remaining to cut Trine's lead to 7-6 at halftime.

Kirstin John scored the opening goal of the second half to put Trine back up by two, but Elmhurst took over from that point on. The Bluejays did not allow Trine to score for the remainder of the game as Elmhurst rattled off six straight goals.
Giselle Beltran scored off a Larissa Arvanties pass to cut Trine's lead back to just one. Walker took over after that, scoring three straight goals for the Bluejays, including two goals just 24 seconds apart to give Elmhurst a 10-8 lead with 15 minutes left to play. Theresa Marcello and Miller tacked on insurance goals in the final 12 minutes as Elmhurst pulled away for the four-goal victory.

Walker paced Elmhurst's offense, finishing with seven points on four goals and three assists. She scored three of Elmhurst's six goals in the second half while assisting on the Bluejays' final two goals of the night. Miller totaled four points on three goals and an assist while
Grace Knoebel found the back of the net twice for the Bluejays.
Ellen Brown won four draw controls and picked up a team-best eight ground balls.

Megan Keener played all 60 minutes in goal, picking up the victory in the process. She allowed just eight goals while equaling her career high of 16 saves. Keener recorded 10 saves and allowed just one goal in the game's final 30 minutes.

Trine outshot Elmhurst 37-28 but Elmhurst held a slight 25-21 edge in ground balls.

John led Trine with five points, finishing with three goals and two assists. Rebecca Plantz added two goals and an assist for the Thunder.
Audrey Poteet took the loss in the cage for Trine, surrendering 12 goals while recording 11 saves.

Elmhurst travels to Hanvoer College on Sunday, March 18.
