WHEATON, Ill. – The Elmhurst men's soccer team dropped to 0-2 in the CCIW after falling 2-1 at Wheaton College.

Wheaton (6-4-1, 1-2-0 CCIW) jumped out to an early two goal lead, scoring twice in the first 12 minutes. Peter Whallon started the scoring for the Thunder just 1:25 into the match as his shot deflected off Elmhurst keeper
Patrick Smith and into the net. AJ Moyes scored off a Shane Kopplin assist in the 12
th minute to double Wheaton's lead at 2-0.

Elmhurst (1-10, 0-2 CCIW) cut the deficit in half in the 23rd minute when
Matt McNamara scored off a free kick to make the score 2-1.

The Bluejays were unable to come up with the equalizer as Wheaton held on for the 2-1 victory. Wheaton outshot Elmhurst 19-7 in the contest and held a 9-4 shots on goal advantage.

Smith recorded seven saves in goal for the Bluejays while Hasten Biddlecome finished with three saves in net for the Thunder.
