ELMHURST, Ill. –
Keegan Thompson's goal in the 79th minute propelled the Elmhurst men's soccer team to a 1-0 shutout victory over North Central College at Langhorst Field.

Elmhurst (2-13, 1-5 CCIW) snapped an 11-game slide with the victory while recording its second shutout of the season.

North Central (8-5, 3-3 CCIW) and Elmhurst were even through 75 minutes of action before Thompson scored the game-winner.
Matt McNamara sent a long pass over the Cardinals' defense to
Ben Myhr. Myhr headed the ball back to the middle where a wide-open Thompson blasted home a shot to give Elmhurst a 1-0 lead.

The Bluejays' defense made the goal stand up as Elmhurst turned away North Central for the final 11 minutes to preserve the shutout victory.

North Central held a 13-9 shots advantage and also finished with a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.
Patrick Smith recorded his first shutout in net for the Bluejays while recording six saves.
