ELMHURST, Ill. – 
Zach Clements' first-half goal was all the Elmhurst men's soccer team needed to score a 1-0 shutout win over Millikin University at Langhorst Field.
 
Elmhurst dominated much of the action for the first half, outshooting Millikin 9-1 in the first 45 minutes. The Bluejays had a shot ricochet off the goal post and the rebound in front of an open net was shot high.
The Bluejays finally cracked the scoreboard late in the first half. 
Angel Carreno put a centering pass on the ground that 
Zach Clements knocked over Millikin keeper Trevor Creek's head and into the net.
 
Millikin (2-6-1, 0-2 CCIW) pressed the action in the second half, outshooting Elmhurst 12-4, but the Bluejays turned the Big Blue away each time. 
Nick King recorded six saves in the second half to preserve the shutout for Elmhurst.
 
King improved to 6-2-2 on the season in goal and recorded his fourth shutout of the season by stopping all seven shots he faced.
 
Elmhurst improved to 6-2-2 overall and 2-0 in the CCIW with the victory.
 
The Bluejays travel to North Central College on Tuesday, October 3.
