NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's soccer team suffered its first CCIW loss of the season after dropping a 3-0 contest at North Central College.
North Central (5-5-1, 2-0 CCIW) grabbed an early lead with a Gavin Sanchez goal in the 22nd minute and held a 1-0 lead at the half.
The Cardinals tacked on a pair of insurance goals in the final five minutes as Sanchez and Alexis Flores both found the back of the net.
Elmhurst (6-3-2, 2-1-0 CCIW) was outshot 15-4 in the contest and North Central held a slim 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
Nick King registered six saves for the Bluejays while taking the loss in goal.
The Bluejays will try to rebound from the loss when they travel to Illinois Weslyan University on Saturday, October 7.
