KENOSHA, Wis. - The Elmhurst volleyball team slid to 1-1 in the CCIW after falling in three sets at Carthage College.

Carthage (10-3, 2-0 CCIW) stopped Elmhurst 25-12, 25-16, 25-19. Elmhurst fell to 5-9 overall with the loss. 

The Bluejays hit just .079 for the contest with just 22 kills and 15 errors in 89 attempts. Bailey Brouwer led the team in the loss, finishing with six kills. Mel Lundi and Alli Rogers added four kills apiece. Taylor Nirchi led the team in assists with seven while Rogers totaled a team-best 10 digs. Amy Schryver added nine digs for the Bluejays in the loss. 

Carthage hit .265 with 40 kills and 14 errors. Megan Berhrendt led the Lady Reds with 14 kills while Ellie LeCount tallied 30 assists. Luci Krenzke finished with 15 digs for Carthage.

Elmhurst plays at Augustana College on October 3.
