ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Elmhurst volleyball team improved to 2-1 in the CCIW by outlasting Augustana College in a five-set marathon match. 

Elmhurst (6-9 overall) upended Augustana 28-30, 25-20, 25-21, 25-27. 15-13. The Bluejays missed on multiple set points in the first set before taking the second and third sets to go in front. Augustana (9-10, 1-2 CCIW) fought off a match point in the fourth set before pulling even. The Bluejays were able to secure the hard-fought fifth set 15-13.

Elmhurst finished the contest hitting .232 with 71 kills and 22 errors in 211 swings. The Bluejays finished with nine blocks and 109 digs as a team.

Alli Rogers powered the Bluejays in the win with 22 kills and 11 digs. Hannah Davis added 18 kills and 12 digs while Mel Lundin finished with 13 kills. Allie Skoron pounded down 11 kills while recording five blocks. Amy Schryver led the Bluejays in digs with 37 while Rachel Shuty totaled 13. Kelly Townsend registered career-highs in assists (59) and digs (20) in the victory. 

Taryn VanEarwage led Augustana in the loss with 13 kills and 34 digs while Emily Westermeyer tallied 11 kills and 15 digs.
