ELMHURST, Ill. – Three goals in the opening nine minutes lifted the Elmhurst men's soccer team to a 4-0 win over Principia
Elmhurst improved to 2-0 on the season with the victory.
The Bluejays needed less than two minutes to get on the scoreboard. A corner kick from
Zach Clements deflected in front of the net and
Josh Arvidson knocked it out home to give Elmhurst a quick 1-0 lead.
Just two minutes later, the Bluejays doubled their lead as
Matt McNamara lobbed a long pass over the Principia defense.
Andrew Hicks won a foot race past the defense and beat Panthers' keeper Matt Jones to give Elmhurst a two-goal cushion.

Arvidson added an assist on the Bluejays' next goal, flicking the ball over the head of Principia's defense leading to breakaway goal for
Zach Clements just 9:07 into the contest.

JD Garnett added an unassisted goal in the 82nd minute to make the final score 4-0.
Elmhurst outshot Principia 19-8 and held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
Nick King recorded four saves to notch his second straight shutout by stopping four shots.
