MEQUON, Wis. - The Elmhurst men's soccer team remained unbeaten on the 2017 season by playing Concordia (Wis.) to a 1-1 draw.
Elmhurst (2-0-1) jumped on the scoreboard first, scoring just 12:13 into the contest.
Andrew Hicks headed home his second goal of the season on a
Zach Clements cross to give Elmhurst the early lead.
The Bluejays led 1-0 at the half, but Concordia pulled even early in the second half. Colin Dibb scored the equalizer in the 54th minute to put the Falcons on the board.
Neither team scored for the remainder of the half or either of the two 10-minute overtime periods as the game finished in 1-1 draw.
Concordia outshot Elmhurst 26-14, including a 15-3 edge in the first half, but the Bluejays outshot the Falcons 9-6 in the second half.
Nick King helped Elmhurst preserve the tie with 10 saves in goal, including two in the second overtime.
Elmhurst travels to Drew University on Saturday, September 9.
