DECATUR, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's tennis team dropped to 1-1 on the season after suffering a 5-4 road loss at Millikin University.

Elmhurst and Millikin split the six singles matches, but Millikin earned the win by taking two of three doubles contests.

Elmhurst scored its doubles point at No. 1 when Ysabel Gonzaga and Rachel Rettger toppled Molly Angell and Melissa Donovan 8-4. 

In singles play, Chiara Gaudio rallied to defeat Morgan Bettner 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Gonzaga followed with a 6-3, 6-4 win oat No. 2 singles. Kathryn Wheeler accounted for the Bluejays' final singles victory, scoring a 7-6, 6-1 win over Donovan at No. 4 singles.

Elmhurst (1-1, 1-1 CCIW) travels to Carthage College on Wednesday, September 13.
