Grace Knoebel accounted for both of the Elmhurst women's lacrosse team's goals in a 17-2 loss at Illinois Wesleyan University.
Elmhurst fell to 2-14 overall with the loss and 1-4 in the CCIW while IWU improved to 11-5 overall and 4-1 in league play.
With the two teams playing 10-on-10 due to Elmhurst injuries, the Titans outshot the Bluejays 27-5 in the opening 30 minutes while racing out to a 10-goal lead at the half.
Illinois Wesleyan scored the game's first nine goals, including three from Maggie Krause and two from Abby Kushina. Knoebel scored from free position with 10 minute remaining to put Elmhurst on the scoreboard. Back-to-back goals from the Titans gave IWU a 10-goal cushion with just under six minutes left. Knoebel scored her second goal of the game with just over two minutes left in the half to knock the Titans' lead back down to nine. Grainne Kelly scored for the Titans with 1:15 remaining on the clock to put the Titans back up by 10 heading into the half.
IWU outshot Elmhurst 15-0 in the second half while tacking on five insurance goals en route to the 15-goal win. IWU outshot Elmhurst 42-5 in the contest.
Megan Keener recorded 16 saves in net and scooped up six ground balls for the Bluejays.
Sara Dust led the Titans with four goals while Kushina and Krause finished with three goals apiece for IWU.
Elmhurst closes out its season by hosting the University of Dubuque on Saturday, April 29.
